You’re All I Need–My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #370

MFTWSC370_2018jan31

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_370

I’ve been having a ball creating Valentine cards with the recently released products from MFT and incorporating some of my old favorites along with them. For this card I started with the background by inking up Marble Background with Wild Cherry and Cotton Candy dye inks on my Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I created a shaker element using Heart Shaker Window & Frame, Romantic Script Background, and Sweetheart Mix sequins, Silver Shimmer seed beads, and Power Outage Prills.

MFTWSC370_2018jan31b

I tied around some baker’s twine before popping it up on foam tape on the base and then heat embossed the sentiment from From the Heart Stamp Set on Black Licorice card stock cut with Hearts in a Row – Vertical Die-namics.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Bonjour–Color Throwdown Challenge #478

CTD478_2018jan31

Hey everyone, welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa is our hostess today and she’s brought us a bright and cheerful color palette based on her fun inspiration piece.

swatch478

So, I brought out Mini Royal Roses Die-namics again for this card. I really didn’t realize how much I’d missed using them! They’re flanked by Fab Foliage Die-namics and are popped up on a Single Stitch Line Rounded Rectangle Frames Die-namics along with an Eiffel Tower from In Paris Stamp Set and Die-namics.

A strip of Black & White Stripes Patterned paper adds some interest on the watercolored background and I added the adorable poodle to complete my little scene.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Best Wishes–MFT Color Challenge #86

MFTCPC86_2018jan25

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Ripe Raspberry, Orange Zest, Gumdrop Green, and Blue Yonder. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I wanted to play with my watercolor pencils again and I thought LLD Sweet Succulents would be just the thing for these colors. First, though, I created my background by spreading molding paste through English Brick Wall Stencil. While it was drying I adhered a strip of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper across the bottom of a Sweet Tooth card stock base. The sentiment strip was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and adhered directly to the card front.

MFTCPC86_2018jan25b

I stamped the images on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Extreme Black Hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating dies, colored them, and popped them up on the finished card base with foam tape for the finish.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Just Bee-Cause–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #369

MFTWSC369_2018jan24

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_369

I know I say this often but it’s true! This was such a fun sketch to play with! To begin, I did an emboss resist with a watercolor wash over a heat embossed Honeycomb Background on Ranger Watercolor Paper. Next I added my circle element using Single Stitch Line Circle Frames and Silver Shine card stock. Next I created a mini scene using Meant to Bee Stamp Set and Die-namics. I used watercolor pencils to color the images as I was SO inspired by this card from my teammate Torico. I was pretty pleased with my first try—I chose something easy this time, LOL! But I think I’m going to like using them.

MFTWSC369_2018jan24b

The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics and layered on a larger strip cut from Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Hey, Gullfriend! Color Throwdown Challenge #477

CTD477_2018jan24

Hey everyone, welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lori is our hostess today and she’s brought us a fun color palette base on her fun inspiration piece.

swatch477
Lori’s inspiration piece has snowmen but I’m ready for some warmer temperatures, how about you? I went to the seaside with my card this week using Seaside Seagulls Stamp Set and Die-namics and built a scene around them, sponging my sunset background for starters.

CTD477_2018jan24b

My big ol’ orange setting sun was cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 4, I added Cloud 9 Die-namics and Ocean Waves Die-namics, popped up on foam for dimension, to fill it out.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. cardkitrelease_2018jan23

Hi, everyone, are you ready??!! Yay for You Card Kit is now available for purchase in the MFT Boutique! You’ve seen some amazing samples over the last couple of days from the design team and that’s just the tip of the creative iceberg—so many things you can do with this kit. Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for more info and more samples, then go snag yours! Remember, we have a new free with $60 die available for our customers with every kit release. It will be the free die (while supplies last) for the duration of the month until the next release. The mid-month Free with $60 die for January is Celebratory Banner Die-namics.

Unknown-1

What a fun kit is this!! For today’s card I brought out all the confetti! As in Celebratory Confetti Die-namics, which is included in the kit. To begin, I cut another YAY from Sweet Tooth card stock and created a shaker element with it. I used Heat Resistant Acetate, foam tape, and Fantasia Sparkly Shaker Mix for the filler.

cardkitrelease_2018jan23b

Next I cut lots of confetti using Gold Shine card stock and some red and black shiny card stock from my stash to coordinate with the shaker filler. To further coordinate, I added some tiny stars cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 6 cut from Silver Shine card stock and Sparkling Clear Mix Sequins.

cardkitrelease_2018jan23c

Here’s a different view so you can see the red and black confetti better. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and popped up on foam.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope I’ve given you some ideas for using YOUR Yay for You Card Kit. See you soon!

Yay–A New Baby! MFT January Card Kit, Yay for You Countdown Day Two

cardkitday2_2018jan23

Hi, all! So, what do you think of this month’s kit? Super fun and so versatile, right? The Design Team had some samples for you yesterday and there’s more to come today so be sure to check out the MFT Blog for all the details. Release is tonight at 9pm Eastern, so make a note!

Unknown-1

I often look to sentiments to give me inspiration for a card and that’s exactly what I did for this card. To begin, I adhered a watercolored panel to my card base then popped up the two white panels after dry embossing them with Cloudy Day Stencil. I cut the Yay from Silver Sparkle card stock and popped it up on foam, spanning the watercolored panel.

cardkitday2_2018jan23b

Next I cut the little dress from Tiny Checks Brights patterned paper and “hung” it on a hanger cut from White Birch Wood Adhesive backed sheet and hooked it on the die cut sentiment. To finish, I heat embossed the sentiment on Peach Bellini card stock cut with Hearts in a Row – Vertical Die-namics, scattered around some Sparkling Clear Mix sequins, and called it done!

And that’s it for now. Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back tonight for Release!

For my card today, I started by applying a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors then stamped Distressed Patterns with Delicata Gold ink. Next I cut one of the YAY dies from the kit and embossed the stitch line that comes with the banner set. Then I adhered a panel of paper stamped with Happy Birthday Background behind the cut out letters and popped the whole thing up on foam on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

cardkitday1_2018jan22b

The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with a die from Hearts in a Row – Vertical Die-namics and popped up on foam. To finish off I added some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops. Tip: create Nuvo drops ahead of time on a non-stick surface and adhere with glue when dry.

I absolutely love this die! Love the font, love the size, love everything about it! It’s perfect for ushering in this new challenge! I started by dry embossing Star Celebration Stencil on Sweet Tooth card stock, then popped it up on the Sweet Tooth card base with foam tape. Next I added some Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper—addicted to it—and the partial sentiment from Big Birthday Wishes Stamp Set, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock.

birthdaychallengecelebrate_2018jan18b

Next I use Copic markers to create my rainbow swatch and cut Celebrate Die-namics from it along with Sweet Tooth card stock twice. I adhered them together for strength and then to the card front. I finished off with a bunch of Silver Sparkle card stock stars cut from Blueprints 13 and Tag Builder Blueprints 5.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!
