Hay there!–MFTWSC #126

MFTWSC126_2013may29

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I’m using PI – Farmer Girl today since I hadn’t had a chance to ink her up. She’s so CUTE! (But aren’t they all?) I stamped her on my fave Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored her with Copic markers and paper pieced her overalls, before cutting her out. Then, following the sketch, I created a little scene with her, the new Die-namics Farm Fence, and Die-namics LLD Insert It – InstaFrame. I stamped the hale bale, the hen and the baby chick on the bottom of the InstaFrame and colored them, as well, before popping it all up on foam. The sentiment was stamped on a Die-namics Sentiment Strip, trimmed, and also popped up on foam.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set:

I really couldn’t resist stamping the hen again with her little chicks following behind her ;-)

And that’s all from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey, Girlie!–CTD #244

CTD244_2013may29

Happy Wednesday! Since it’s Wednesday, it’s Color Throwdown day! Today, the oh-so-very-talented Lynn has a lovely color palette for us to work with:

swatch 244

For my background, I used the new MFT Mini Chicken Wire Stencil and sponged it with Blu Raspberry ink on Sweet Tooth card stock. Then I layered it on Steel Gray card stock and tied around some baker’s twine. I then added a Die-namics Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose from Razzle Berry card stock and two Die-namics Upsy Daisy flowers from Lemon Drop card stock. I added some Die-namics Royal Leaves and the leaves that come with the daisy set cut from Steel Gray card stock. The sentiment is from More Essential Sentiments and was stamped on a Sweet Tooth card stock Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon flag.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Thinking of You–C4C #187

C4C187_2013may25

Hey, everyone, and welcome to my last week of hosting Crazy 4 Challenges for this month. I’ve had fun coming up with some things to challenge everyone and still be fun. This week, I’m challenging you to NOT use any commercially made patterned paper. Feel free to make your own, as I did, or no patterned paper at all :)

My homemade patterned paper was actually a happy accident. You might remember that I’ve been dabbling in mixed media a tiny bit so I was just testing out some Glimmer Mist sprays that I had on hand on some scrap paper. After I sprayed this green, turquoise, orange combo of colors I looked at it and said “Hey, that looks pretty cool!”. So I did it again on some Sweet Tooth card stock and used it on this card :) After I sprayed and trimmed that panel. I used my Die-namics Medium Leafy Flourish on it, popped up some Jellybean Green card stock behind the cut out, then popped the whole thing up on foam on a Kraft card stock base. To finish it off, I stamped a sentiment from Inspired by Flowers, Set #1 on a Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon flag with Black Licorice ink, also popped up on foam.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set:

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C187.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dare to Dream–MFTWSC #125

MFTWSC125_2013may22

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC125

OK, so I dabbled a bit more in mixed media today and I think I like it!

I started with
Sweet Tooth card stock and the Large Chevron Stripes stencil. I sponged on some Shabby Shutters Distress Ink sorta haphazardly. Then I added some Glimmer Mist drops by taking the nozzle out of the bottle and tapping it over my paper. Then I used the chevron stencil again and dabbed a Snow Cap Adirondack paint dabber here and there and did the Glimmer Mist thing again since the white paint dulled some of it. Then I sponged the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and stamped the squares from MPD Distressed Background Blocks with Frayed Burlap ink, stamped off twice. I matted this panel with Jellybean Green card stock and popped it up on foam on a Sweet Tooth card base. I stamped the sentiment, from MPD Dandelion Wishes on Kraft card stock cut with a Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die and with Jellybean Green ink, popped it up on foam and tied on a Jellybean green button with hemp cord.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from
MPD Dandelion Wishes.

I just love this new direction for MFT! Now I just need more time to play with the  mixed media products I’ve started collecting. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
