Thank You–CTD #236

CTD236_2013apr3

Hey, there! It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week, the fabulous Lynn has an awesome color combo for us, inspired by these lovely pansies.

swatch 236

This doesn’t happen to me very often, but I had NO patterned paper with these purples in it so I made my own :) I stamped the small dots from LJD Darling Dots on Orchid Opulence card stock with Rich Razzleberry ink for the background. Then I made a frame for it with Rich Razzleberry card stock using my Die-namics Blue Prints 1 large layer and a Die-namics Rectangle STAX die. The proportions were perfect!

Next, I cut one of each of the layers from
Die-namics Layered Rose and started to create my flower--the two largest layers from Orchid Opulence and the three smaller from Rich Razzleberry. First, I sponged some Rich Razzleberry ink on the two larger layers, more on the second largest to help them blend, then shaped the petals of all five with my Paper Blossoms Took Kit. I used a Lemon Drop button for the center and popped it up on an Almost Artichoke Die-namics Leafy Flourish die cut. The sentiment is from Die-namics Airplane Greetings Die & Stamp Set and was stamped on Whip Cream card stock with Black Licorice ink and framed with Die-namics LLD Accent It – Labels and Tabs.

The inside has a sentiment from
More Essential Sentiments:

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week. And, help us give a warm welcome to April’s Guest Designer, Frances Byrne.
