I love Blueprints 20 Die-namics with the whole quilt theme going on so I decided to try to expand on that a bit today. I started by doing a watercolor rainbow on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless watercolors, then splattered with black from my Kuretake Gansai watercolors. Next I stamped Abstract Background with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder—I was going for a “crazy quilt” look. I had seen a pieced quilt on Pinterest that was done in a rainbow pattern like this and love it so I used it for inspiration.

I cut that with Blueprints 20 Die-namics and then matted it with Sweet Tooth card stock cut with the scallop layer from Blueprints 20 Die-namics. I popped it up on a Black Licorice card stock base with foam mounting tape and added Thanks Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock. I though that was pretty much all it needed to be finished.

And that’s it for the March edition of
MFT’s Creative Construction with Blueprints! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Happy Birthday–MFT Color Challenge #66

MFTCPC66_2017mar24

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Safety Orange, Cranberry Cocktail, Tropical Teal, and Tangy Orange. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

The rich colors reminded me of balloons for some reason so I did a birthday card full of balloons! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then cut a bunch of balloons using Balloon STAX Die-namics from X-Press It Blending Card and colored them with Copic markers and added highlights with a Uni-Ball White Gel Pen. On another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock, I arranged them like I wanted, drew the “strings” with a black Copic multiliner pen and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape.

The sentiment is a combo of Cause for Celebration Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and part of a sentiment from BB Birthday Bears stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. I finished off with some enamel dots.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. I finally got a chance to use the recently released Critter Clan stamp set and Critter Clan Die-namics from MFT’s March Release for this sketch. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then did a watercolor night sky on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors and popped it up on foam mounting tape after stamping the sentiment from Critter Clan. I added a big ol’ moon, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with Tag Builders Blueprints 6 Die-namics and stamped with Distressed Patterns and Cement Gray dye ink. I popped that up on foam tape and added a Puffy Clouds Die-namics cut from Stone Gray card stock.

Next I stamped the owl image from
Critter Clan and the limb from Harvest Buddies on X-Press It Blending Card with black Licorice hybrid ink, colored them with Copic markers and added them to the scene with foam tape.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
