I’m Tweet on You–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #335

MFTWSC335_2017jun1

Hi, everyone, I'm back with this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I had to study this sketch a while and then decided to not take it literally. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, added some Fun & Frolic Paper Pack for the bottom element and Ranger Watercolor Paper with a Peerless Watercolor wash for the top. For the horizontal element I stamped the limb from I’m Tweet On You with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers then fussy cut it out, did the same thing for the birdies and popped them up on foam mounting tape.

I added a Blueprints 21 Die-namics sun cut from Pineapple card stock for the little square element and heat embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice card stock to finish off.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Cheers! Color Throwdown Challenge #445

CTD445_2017may26

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Jodi is our hostess and she has chosen some preppy colors based on her gorgeous inspiration piece

swatch445

I usually get some inspiration from the piece but not this time, LOL! I love dark blue wine bottles so I got out my Wine Service Die-namics and colored one up. I cut it and the glass from X-Press It Blending Card and colored them with Copic markers. The label was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with Romantic Script Background and Delicata Gold pigment ink and the foil was cut from Brushed Gold card stock.

I popped them up on a background stenciled with English Brick Wall Stencil and embossing paste to simulate a wall and created a “bar top” with White Birch Adhesive-Backed Sheet with the sentiment from Uncorked stamped with Black Licorice hybrid ink. To finish off I added a Cheers Die-namics cut from Brushed Gold card stock and some sequins.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD445 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd445 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented May Guest Designer, Amy Tsuruta!

Stuck with no idea how to bring in challenge colors to your project? Abstract Art stamp set to the rescue!! I love this set so I decided to show it some love for this card that kinda had me stumped. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and adhered a strip of Fun & Frolic Paper Pack on the right side.

Then I stamped Abstract Art with the challenge colors and the “GREETINGS” part of the sentiment from Hand Lettered Holiday with Gravel Gray dye ink. I cut Happy Birthday Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock three times, adhered them together and to the card and finished off with some enamel dots.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!
