Thank You Wreath–CTD #397

CTD397_2016jun15

Hello, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Lori is our hostess this week and she’s chosen a classic color combo based on her inspiration piece.

It’s not often that I have patterned paper that is perfect for the challenge so I wasn’t about to pass this up. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and added a strip of Subtle Plaids Paper Pack that had the exact colors and no more. Then I spread molding paste on more Sweet Tooth card stock through Herringbone Bricks Stencil and set it aside to dry.

In the meantime I stamped up LJD Spring Wreath in the challenge colors using Kraft dye ink, Lemon Drop dye ink, Banana Split dye ink, and Sour Apple dye ink, cut it out with LJD Spring Wreath Die-namics, and built my wreath, shaping the flowers and leaves for dimension, and adding black flat-backed beads for the flower centers. I stamped the sentiment from the set on Blueprints 28 Die-namics with Black Licorice dye ink. I popped the stenciled panel up on foam mounting tape, adhered the sentiment banner, adhered the leaves and flowers to the wreath with hot glue, and then popped it up on more foam tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD397 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd397 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our talented June Guest Designer, Kara Vrabel!
