Rainbow Hello–SSSC #234

SSSC234_2014aug31

Hey, everyone, it’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and Karen has another classic sketch for us today.

SSSC234
My card started with a Steel Gray Card Stock base on which I stamped Wood Plank Background with Steel Gray Ink. Moving up, the next element is Sweet Tooth Card Stock on which I stenciled some embossing paste with On the Diagonal Stencil, then adhered it to my base. I searched through my stash and found some Sour Apple Card Stock that had been stamped with Steel Gray Ink and Grid Background and I popped that up on foam. Next, I did some water coloring on two pieces of Ranger water color paper. For the “sky”, I did a water color wash with SU! Pacific Point reinker, then on the other piece I did a rainbow water color wash with Grape Jelly Refill, Blu Raspberry Refill, Sour Apple Refill, Lemon Drop Refill, Orange Fizz Refill, and Red Hot Refill from MFT. Using TRANSFORM-ables Say Hello Die-namics, I cut out the “hello”, adhered it to the sky, and added a few clouds from Witch Way Is the Candy? Die-namics. To see how I did the water color wash, check out my video in THIS post or on my YouTube channel.

I popped the whole thing up on foam then, following the sketch, I added three metal dots.

On the inside is a sentiment from LJD Grand Greetings, stamped with Steel Gray Ink.

Vintage Hello–C4C #251

C4C251_2014aug30

Hi, all, it’s time for another Crazy 4 Challenges! Today Helen has an inspiration piece for us with which I’m in LOVE!! I love the soft colors and the chippy cottage chic look so I pretty much went with both of those to help me design my card.

I started with a Kraft Card Stock card base. Next I cut High Tea Party Doily Die-namics from Primitive White Card Stock and sponged the edges with Grout Gray Ink. I usually use a warmer color, like Kraft Ink for sponging but the photo led me to use Grout Gray Ink and I love it!! I trimmed off the side and adhered it to a layer of Sno Cone Card Stock, then popped them both up on the base on foam tape.

Next I cut Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics from Grout Gray Card Stock, sponged the edges, and adhered it to my doily. Then I made some flowers, from Pink Lemonade Card Stock using Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics and Mini Royal Roses Die-namics and adhered them, as well.

The sentiment, from  LJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers, was stamped with Grout Gray Ink on a Sentiment Strips Die-namics cut from Kraft Card Stock and the end slipped under the flowers.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from LJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers.
